About
The basic everyday food I grew up eating belonged to the fertile gangetic plains…… Central Uttar Pradesh, to be exact. I did not grow up in that region, its just a part of my heritage, its a part of me, that defines me in a way. The fruits, vegetables and grains in this region were so full of flavor that they did not require a lot of spice and tweaking, so the authentic food was fairly simple. This blog is only my effort at keeping those very simple recipes alive, I grew up eating. As I have been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit in India and some parts of the U.S. ,my Chauka(Kitchen) is also an intensely experimental place. I try to give special consideration to nutrition and health as well, as our present lifestyles demand so. So, please join in the discussions……..in my Charche(discussions) Chauke ke!!

I immediately remembered your site from the kiwi buche but somehow I must have not seen the Ann Arbor mention on the top right. If you are interested in joining a great group of Michigan food blogging ladies, Mother’s Kitchen has an email entry form on her sidebar. Most of the ladies are in the Ann Arbor area.
